ShelfSync
A PDF reader for Linux and Android tablets. Your books and your place in them stay in sync through your own Google Drive.
What it does
- Add a book on one device and it appears on the other.
- Resumes exactly where you left off: page, position on the page and zoom. If another device read further, it asks before jumping.
- Dark pages that invert text but keep photos and diagrams in their real colours.
- Works offline. Sync catches up when you're back online.
- No accounts, no servers, no cost. Everything is stored in your own Google Drive.
Install
Linux: download the .deb and run:
sudo apt install ./shelfsync_*.deb
Android: download the .apk on the tablet and open it. Allow installs from your browser or file manager when Android asks.
Then open ShelfSync, tap Sign in and use the same Google account on every device. A ShelfSync folder appears in your Drive.
Privacy
ShelfSync can only see the files it created itself. It cannot read the rest of your Drive, and there is no ShelfSync server. See the privacy policy.
